What is the Context Library?
The Context Library centralizes all your context elements in one organized location. Instead of having context scattered across different parts of Team-GPT, everything is now in a single, easily accessible hub.
How to Access the Context Library
You can access the Context Library in two simple ways:
- Click the "Add Context" button in any chat
- Use the "@" shortcut in the chat input field
What's Inside the Context Library
Instructions (Formerly Custom Instructions)
Instructions (previously called "Custom Instructions") are now managed in the Context Library. To create a new instruction:
- Click on the Instructions tab
- Enter your instruction text
- Name your instruction
- Click Save
Your instruction will appear in your library. By default, instructions are private, but you can change the visibility to "Shared" to make them available to your entire team.
Note: Only custom instructions used in the last 60 days have been migrated to prevent clutter in your workspace.
Web Pages
Adding website content as context is simple:
- Go to the Web Pages tab
- Paste your URL
- Click Save
The page will be processed and added to your library with a preview. Web pages can be set as private or shared with your team, making them perfect for adding company websites, knowledge bases, or research materials as persistent context.
Files and Images
You can easily add files and images to your Context Library:
- Drag and drop or upload files and images
- Your uploads will be processed and stored permanently in your library
Recent Tab
The Recent tab offers several advantages:
- Shows your most frequently used context snippets
- Updates automatically as you use different items
- Becomes personalized to your workflow over time
- Makes context selection faster and more intuitive
Using Context in Chats
When you add context to a chat, selected items appear as tags in the chat input field. You can hover over any context item to preview its contents, and context items can be removed if they're not relevant for your current chat.
Integration with Project Knowledge
The Context library seamlessly integrates with Team-GPT's Project knowledge. New items you add inside Project knowledge will also appear in your Context Library.
You can see all context items from Project knowledge active in your chat, and context can be removed or additional context added from your library as needed.

Important Note
Your Context Library starts with a clean slate to avoid clutter. Only custom instructions used in the last 60 days have been migrated, and previously uploaded files and links aren't automatically stored. Everything you add from now on will be saved in your library, while existing Project knowledge remains in place.
