Understanding workspace organization
Team-GPT gives you flexibility to choose between sharing and collaborating in chats or keeping private chats in a Private space.
By default, when you create a new chat, it will be private, and only you will be able to access it. You can change this preference by selecting to start a new shared or private chat. Team-GPT remembers your preference for future chats.
When you create content (Chat, Image, Page) without assigning it to a specific project, it will appear under 'Recent' in the sidebar, regardless of whether it's shared or private.
Navigating the sidebar
The sidebar organizes your work into three main sections:
- Recent (Chats, Images, Web, Pages)
- Shared projects
- Private projects
In the Recent section, you can see the visibility of each item and which project it belongs to. For example, some chats might not belong to any project and be private, while others might belong to shared or private projects.
You can also Pin your most important projects for quick access.
Shared spaces
Chats, images, Pages and Web chats inside 'Shared' are visible either to everyone from your team or to the people that have permission to access them.
Shared Chats are perfect for:
- Team brainstorming sessions
- Collaborative problem-solving
- Knowledge sharing across departments
- Building on each other's AI prompts
Private spaces
Chats, images, pages, and web chats inside 'Private' are accessible only to you.
Use these when:
- Working on confidential matters
- Exploring personal ideas
- Handling sensitive information
Your Private section has a distinctive blue theme - this helps you recognize when you're working in your Private space.
Managing project permissions
Project permissions help you control who can access specific information:
- Navigate to project settings by hovering over a project and clicking the three dots → Project settings
- Review sharing options:
- Only you: Only you can view and use this Project (appears in Private projects)
- Only people invited: Choose specific workspace members who can access the Project (appears under Shared)
- Everyone in workspace: All workspace members have access (appears under Shared)
